New blog, new items!

Hello and welcome to my new blog! I wanted to add this feature as a way to introduce those on my website to new menu items and new designs and whatever else I am up to! I'm not going to be some amazing blogger, I am a baker not a writer (haha) but I will do my best to not be boring either. I want to use this first blog post as a way to introduce to everyone to 2 new options to my menu.


Pictured is my chocolate cupcake in sugar-free form and my absolute favorite frosting, Swiss meringue buttercream, in a sugar free form.

I tested this at my daughter's 2nd birthday party (which was unicorn themed) where I had sugar lovers and a diabetic in attendance. It was loved by all so I am greatly pleased to be able to offer it to you all! I cannot even begin to tell you how pleased I was especially that the frosting worked! Swiss meringue (smbc) is a silky, smooth frosting that starts with a meringue and has loads of butter added. Because of this it is less sweet and greatly preferred by not only me but most of my customers. Regular American buttercream has half the butter but A LOT more sugar than smbc and thus is a lot sweeter but I promise you it is absolutely delicious as well! This opens up a huge variety of my cakes and cupcakes to be sugar-free as well!

Another debut at the party was my new Devil's food cake (which is what the actual Unicorn cake is)! Earlier this year my amazing cousin sent me some recipes from our grandma's recipe book. In them was many recipes but one gem that I was excited to find in particular was a Devil's food cake that was her mother's recipe. So this is my great-grandma's devil's food cake and it is delicious and I am excited to add it to my menu and I hope you all love it!
